Had to choose between a tower crane gig downtown or a mobile crane job on a highway bridge

The tower job paid more, but the bridge project was closer to home and had a better crew lead. I went with the bridge and the teamwork on the tricky lifts has been solid. What would you have picked, the money or the better work situation?

Money talks in this trade. A better crew lead is nice, but that tower crane rate adds up fast. Could be the difference between a good year and a great one. That extra cash buys a lot of peace of mind outside of work. Seen too many "good crews" fall apart when the real pressure hits.

Man, I used to chase the higher pay every single time. But after a few bad crews, I totally get picking the better work spot now. Good teamwork on tricky lifts is worth way more than extra cash in the long run.
