Warning: My home office chair repair taught me something about workplace setups.

Consider how much mental energy gets wasted just fighting your uncomfortable setup.

Vent: My paint job uncovered a hidden wall message from the past owners

That message must have said something specific, like "The Smiths, 1998" or maybe even a kid's height chart. What did it actually say? If it was just some random pencil marks, who cares, but if it was clearly meaningful to the previous family, why keep it a secret? You already did the work to cover it, so what's the real worry here, that you erased a piece of the house's story?

Back when I started, we hung knives on a nail board.

My buddy Mike had his grandpa's cleaver on a single rusty nail in the garage. It sat there for forty years, never once falling off. Some things just work, you know, even if they look too simple.

Home air quality is a huge deal for my customers now

Seen both sides of this filter debate. Upgraded to a fancy one, then had airflow issues. Switched to a mid-grade option, and it's perfect. Not too restrictive, still catches dust. Key is matching the filter to your actual system needs.

Rant: I gave up on trying to convince people in conspiracy debates and just listen now.

In 2019, I was all over Twitter fighting about moon landing hoaxes lol. It took me a year to see that nobody ever changed their mind from my arguments. Now I just ask questions and let people talk themselves out. You learn way more about why they believe what they do when you listen. It saves so much mental energy, and sometimes they even doubt their own stuff after hearing it out loud. Honestly, stepping back was the best move for my sanity.
