Pro tip: A chat with my accountant changed how I look at my business numbers

I was talking with my accountant, Sarah, last Tuesday about my quarterly taxes. She pointed out I was only tracking revenue and not my customer lifetime value. She said, 'Your profit is in the repeats, not the first sale.' That hit different because I was so focused on new clients. Now I'm digging into my repeat customer rate from the last year. Has anyone else shifted focus from new sales to keeping current customers happy?

Totally get that. I was in the same spot last year. Started sending a simple thank you email after a first purchase with a small discount for next time. My repeat business went up like 20% in six months. It costs almost nothing to do. Makes people feel seen. Stopped chasing every new lead so hard.
