That $60 angle grinder from the pawn shop finally gave up mid-cut on a paver project in Tulsa
It started smoking and the blade just stopped spinning while I was halfway through a cut for a patio edge. Took it apart and the brushes were completely gone, had to borrow my neighbor's Makita to finish. Anyone else ever push a cheap tool too far and regret not upgrading sooner?

Wait, it was smoking and you still tried to take it apart right then? I mean, that sounds like a good way to get hurt. Maybe let it cool off next time.

Yeah, "let it cool off" is smart... I once tried to fix a toaster that was still warm, not even smoking, and totally fried the board with static. Patience is not my strong suit.
