Heard a rumor about the new load charts for the Link-Belt 1100 Series 2 in the rain

A guy on a site in Tacoma last month swore the factory charts for wet conditions were way too conservative, saying he'd lifted 15% over with no issues. I was totally skeptical until I saw the official service bulletin from Link-Belt themselves, dated March 15th, confirming a 12% reduction is needed for sustained rain on that model due to a sensor calibration quirk. Have any of you run into this with other cranes in bad weather?

Always check the factory bulletins first. We had a similar scare with a Grove last year in heavy fog, and the official note saved us from a bad call. Never trust site rumors over the printed specs.

Wait, you trust a factory bulletin over a guy who runs the machine every day? Those bulletins are written by lawyers. On my last job with a TMS900 in a drizzle, the chart said drop 10%. The operator, a guy with 30 years, said he knew the ground and the crane, and we went 5% under dry weight. No problems, job finished on time. Sometimes real world experience beats a piece of paper.
