Spent $200 on a load indicator for my Grove and it paid for itself in a week

I used to think load indicators were just extra junk to go wrong. Then I nearly tipped a 50 ton Grove at a job site in Denver last month trying to guess a pick weight. Bought a Rayco Wylie i4502 for 200 bucks and it caught me about to overload on a concrete panel. Anyone else have a close call that made them spend money on safety gear?

Jumped right into the same boat myself with a 100 ton Liebherr last fall. Got a load cell setup for 180 bucks after I guessed a pick on a steel truss that was way heavier than I thought. @quinnmitchell nailed it about peace of mind, now I don't even think twice before hooking it up even for small lifts. The little display catches you before things get sketchy and that's worth every penny.

Right? I did the exact same thing with a Link-Belt 80 ton about a year back, thought I could eyeball a steel beam and almost put it on its side. Dropped 150 bucks on a used load cell setup right after and honestly it's the best peace of mind money I've spent, never guessing again lol.
