Update: Our yard crane's swing radius after switching to the new wireless remote
We swapped out the old hardwired pendant on our 25-ton yard crane for a new wireless system about three months ago. The difference in how fast we can set a load is crazy. Before, the operator had to walk with the load, which added maybe 30 seconds to each pick just for positioning. Now, they can stand in one clear spot and guide it directly. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed a big drop in cycle times?

Was the learning curve for your crew pretty quick? We did the same on a smaller 10-ton crane last year, and that saved walk-back time really adds up over a full day of lifts. Our guys went from maybe 20 picks a shift to closer to 30, just from cutting out those extra steps.

Watching the old pendant guys shuffle along was like a sad parade nobody wanted to be in. Cooper.max gets it, those saved steps are pure gold. My only worry is the operator getting too comfy and trying to run the crane from the break room next. The real test is if the coffee in their mug stays hot for the whole shift now.
