A support rep's shady fix left me with a bigger mess
I had an issue with my streaming service not working right after an update. Called up, and the agent told me to claim it was a hardware fault on my end to get a free technician visit. I knew it was just a software bug, but he insisted it was the only way. I went along with it, feeling uneasy. The tech came, found nothing wrong, and I got hit with a service fee for a false report. Now I'm out money and the original problem isn't fixed. Moral of the story: don't let customer service talk you into dishonest shortcuts. It always comes back to bite you.

Wait, that wasn't shady advice, it was just obviously wrong lol.

Yeah, calling it 'obviously wrong' is spot on. Sometimes people give advice that's so off it's almost funny. Like they didn't even TRY to understand the problem.
