Sat on hold for 47 minutes just to hear 'we don't cover that'

Called my insurance company last Wednesday about a claim for a busted water pipe. After 47 minutes of hold music and three transfers, the lady told me my policy doesn't cover sudden pipe bursts - only slow leaks. Anyone else get hit with some weird fine print like that?

Wait, did you actually read through your whole policy before calling?

@thea143 makes a good point but honestly most people don't read the full policy until they have to file a claim. Did you ask them to show you the exact paragraph where it says that? Because my neighbor had the same thing happen with State Farm and it turned out the rep was just reading from a general list and his policy actually did cover it after he made them look at the specific wording. Might be worth calling back and asking for a supervisor.
