Why I stopped trusting phone support after a disaster

Email support actually fixed things for me.

My friend Carla spent 47 minutes on hold with her bank's phone line trying to fix a double charge. The person who finally answered transferred her call and it dropped. She sent one email to the support address instead, and they had it sorted with a confirmation number by the next morning. She said the written trail made all the difference because there was no confusion. Now she refuses to call any company if she can possibly help it.

Totally get where Carla's coming from. @alice121 I've had the same thing happen with supply orders for jobs, where a phone call about a delivery time just gets forgotten. But if I send a text or email, there's proof of what we agreed on. It turns into a game of "he said, she said" otherwise. Now I just won't call for anything important either.
