That time a stranger fixed my 2FA setup from a coffee shop line
I was standing in line at a small coffee shop in Austin last month, fumbling with my phone because I kept getting locked out of my email. The guy behind me, total stranger, asked if I was stuck on a recovery code. I laughed it off, but he pointed out that I had SMS as my backup method and said, 'You know that's like leaving your spare key under the mat, right?' He spent two minutes showing me how to switch to an authenticator app and set up backup codes offline. Honestly, I'd read about that a hundred times but never felt the urgency until a random dude called it out in public. Has anyone else had a completely random encounter that made them rethink their security setup? Or do you still rely on SMS backups and just hope for the best?

Ha! Sounds like that guy was the security fairy godmother we all need... though honestly, I still use SMS for my bank and just cross my fingers every time.
