That time my buddy said 'just use the same password for everything' and I almost listened

My coworker Dave kept telling me it was fine to reuse my Netflix password for my bank account, said nobody would ever guess it. Last week I got a phishing text that knew my exact password from a site that got hacked. Has anyone else had a friend give them terrible security advice that could have burned them?
