Got clowned on Reddit for stacking wrong coupons, now I check terms every time
I used to just slap any coupon code I found into my cart without reading the fine print. Someone on this sub called me out for missing a "exclusions apply" note on a $50 off $200 Home Depot code. Turns out that code was for appliances only, not the power tools I was buying. Now I always scroll down to the terms before trying any deal. Caught myself 3 times last week alone catching similar gotchas. Has anyone else found a specific store that hides their worst restrictions?

Kohl's is the worst for this - they'll post that 30% off everything coupon but buried in the fine print it excludes like 50 different brands and categories. You ever get burned by a store that had a completely hidden exclusions list?

Kohl's is annoying but not exactly hiding anything, it's pretty well known they do that. I can't get worked up over a coupon having exclusions when every single store does it now. Like yeah it's frustrating but you learned your lesson, that's just part of online shopping. People act like a missed coupon code is some kind of personal betrayal when it's just business as usual. You can usually spot the big restrictions if you glance at the terms for ten seconds before buying. Not really something worth getting clowned over either way, it happens to everyone at some point.
