Rant: Rakuten vs Honey - picked the wrong cash back app for 6 months

So I been using Honey for like 6 months thinking I was killing it with coupon codes. Then my buddy at the station showed me his Rakuten earnings. Dude made $230 cash back in 3 months just on normal shopping. I go check my Honey history and I had like $12 total. Switched to Rakuten last month and got $40 back already on stuff I was gonna buy anyway. The quarterly check is kinda nice too vs the gift card nonsense. Anyone else get burned by one of these before realizing the other was way better?

Yeah same thing happened to me. I used Honey for like 5 months and barely scraped together 20 bucks. Then my coworker told me about Rakuten and I checked my history with them and I was getting cash back on stuff I forgot I even bought. Its night and day honestly. The quarterly check is way better than trying to redeem a gift card that takes weeks to arrive too.

Dude, right? I was in the exact same boat. Used Honey for almost a year and thought I was being smart, ended up with maybe 15 bucks in rewards. Then I tried Rakuten on a Black Friday order and got like 30 bucks back on a new TV I was buying anyway. That quarterly check in the mail feels way more legit than trying to hunt down a working coupon code.
