That $45 bag of cat food from two years ago vs today's $65 bag at the same store
Honestly, I bought the same 16lb bag of Purina at Petco in 2022 for $45, now it's $65. My cat eats the same amount, but my wallet feels it every month. Anyone else notice pet food prices jumping like this or is it just my area?

Read a news piece saying pet food companies blame supply chain costs and grain shortages for the hikes, which makes sense but doesn't help my budget. @fiona_johnson82 I get the rice idea, but be careful because cats need meat protein and fillers can mess with their digestion over time. My vet told me to look for store brand options with similar ingredients to save a few bucks.

My cat Oscar literally side-eyes me now when I open the pantry because he knows it's just the cheaper kibble. I paid $48 for a 15lb bag of Iams at Target last summer and this month it was $62. I swear I'm gonna start mixing in some rice just to stretch it out, he won't know the difference.
