Finally got a full 8 hours of battery out of my Dell after 2 years of struggling
Used to plug in twice a day at the coffee shop down the street just to get through spreadsheets. Switched to a lower brightness setting and turned off the keyboard backlight last week, now I'm getting through my whole shift without hunting for an outlet. Anyone else find one random setting that changed everything for them?

Honestly read somewhere that turning off keyboard backlighting can save like 15-20% battery, so it tracks you're noticing a difference. Heard a tech reviewer say it's one of the biggest hidden battery drains most people ignore.

Notebookcheck did actual tests on this. They got around 8-10% savings max with backlighting off. The 15-20% number is only if you're constantly in the dark with brightness maxed.
