Broke down on I-35 last Tuesday and nobody stopped to help

I was driving home from Austin around 6pm when my alternator gave out near the Round Rock exit... sat there for almost 45 minutes with my hazards blinking. Maybe 30 cars passed me and not one person even slowed down. Is this just how it is now or did I catch everyone at a bad time?

Wait, 45 minutes and nobody stopped? That's wild to me, man. I've broken down on the side of the road a couple times over the years and always had someone pull over within 10-15 minutes. Even if it was just to ask if I needed a phone. I mean, I get it, people are busy and maybe they're scared of getting robbed or something. But 30 cars going by without even slowing down? That's just cold. Were you at least in a safe spot or was it right on the shoulder next to traffic?

Dude thats rough. 45 minutes is insane honestly. Ive been lucky too where people stopped pretty quickly but I think it really depends on the area and time of day. One time I broke down on a busy highway near a city and nobody even honked let alone pulled over. Felt like I was invisible. Another time on a quiet back road some old guy in a pickup stopped before I even had my hood up. Glad you were in a decent spot at least, that highway shoulder stuff is terrifying with cars flying by.
