Changed my mind about the farmer's market after this morning
I always thought it was overpriced yuppie stuff but I went to the one in Oak Park today and a guy gave me a free sample of honey that totally changed my mind. It was way better than the stuff at the grocery store. Has anyone else had a random encounter that flipped your opinion on something?10

Had a similar thing happen with homemade salsa at a little stand near me. I always figured those smaller vendors were just charging more for the same stuff you get in a jar. But this lady let me taste her verde salsa and it had actual roasted tomatillos and fresh cilantro, not that watery vinegary junk. Now I grab a pint of it every Saturday and I'm honestly ruined for the store bought kind. Sometimes you just gotta let the free samples do their thing.

Wait, is this really that much better or are you just convincing yourself cause you paid more for it? I grabbed a jar of store brand salsa verde last week for like 3 bucks and it was fire - had actual chunks of tomatillo and jalapeno, not that runny stuff you're talking about. Half the time those little stands are just blending up canned tomatoes with extra salt and calling it artisanal. I get that homemade can be good but I've been burned way too many times paying 8 bucks for a tiny cup of something that tastes like it came from a Taco Bell packet.
