Shoutout to the guy at Home Depot who showed me how to fix a leaky faucet in 10 minutes
Last Saturday I went to Home Depot in Tulsa to buy a new faucet because mine was dripping like crazy. A random employee in plumbing stopped me and said I could just replace the cartridge for $8 instead. He walked me through it right there in the aisle using a display model. Took me 9 minutes to fix it when I got home and saved me $150 on a plumber. Has anyone else had a random stranger save you money on a simple fix?

Wait, didn't a friend's neighbor fix her garbage disposal with a paperclip once?

You got me there @tessa_hill86, I used to think you needed a pro for that stuff but a paperclip sounds way simpler. That changed my whole view on fixing things myself.
