That viral "lemon juice and baking soda cure for cancer" post from my aunt

Saw it on Facebook last Tuesday, tried tracking down the actual study it cited and it led to a dead link on a site that looked like it was made in 1998. Has anyone else fallen for one of these miracle cures only to find the source is totally fake?

Oh man, my friend Sarah once saw this "apple cider vinegar and honey cures arthritis" video on Facebook. She tried it for two weeks straight and ended up with terrible heartburn and a rash on her neck. When she looked up the "doctor" in the video, it turned out his medical license was from some fake online diploma mill. She was so embarrassed she didn't tell anyone for a month. Did your aunt ever admit it was fake?

@patricia_singh81 Oh man, that arthritis thing sounds rough. My aunt's still posting that lemon juice stuff like it's gospel, even after I showed her the dead link. She told me "well it worked for my friend's cousin's neighbor's dog" so I guess that settles it (note: heavy sarcasm). At least your friend had the sense to quit after two weeks, my aunt's been on this "cleanse" for three months and her teeth are starting to look funny from all that acid.
