Setting my freelance rates higher felt risky, but it worked out

I kept my prices low for a long time, afraid of scaring off clients. I finally compared my work to others and picked a new number for a recent job. The client said yes right away, which was a huge relief. It showed me that valuing my own time was the right move.

Wonder if that always works out.

From what I've seen, it really doesn't. Pure luck plays a huge part, or someone else's random choice can wreck a solid plan. Even with the best setup, things just fall apart sometimes for no clear reason.

My old boss used to say luck is just being ready when a chance shows up... and @vera668, I've seen that play out a few times.
