Thinking about selling my truck to buy a van for my mobile grooming setup

Last month, a regular client, Mrs. Jenkins, asked if I could come to her house because her new Great Dane, Bruno, gets too stressed at the shop. I had to turn her down because my old Ford F-150 just can't handle the gear and water tank. The pros are clear: more space, built-in tub, and I could book more house calls. The big con is the loan payment would be about $450 a month for five years. Has anyone else made this switch and did the extra business cover the new costs?

Are you sure you want to tie yourself to a five year loan right now? That $450 payment is a huge fixed cost every single month, no matter if you have a slow week or Bruno gets sick and cancels. Your truck is paid off, right? That freedom is worth a lot. You could maybe just get a used trailer for the gear instead of a whole new van payment.
