I ran my invoices two different ways this quarter and the results were eye-opening
For years, I sent out paper invoices from my small shop in Ferndale and waited for checks in the mail. This past January, I switched half my regular clients to a digital payment system. The paper invoices took an average of 42 days to get paid, but the digital ones cleared in under a week. It's not just about the speed, it's the cash flow difference that lets me plan better. Has anyone else in the area made a similar switch and seen a real change in their monthly numbers?

My uncle's auto shop in Royal Oak tried digital billing last year and actually saw more late payments. The system kept glitching and sending reminders to the wrong emails. They switched back to paper because the headache wasn't worth the supposed faster pay.

Hey @verac40, wasn't there an article about how a lot of small shops have this same problem? I guess if the tech doesn't work right, it just makes everything slower.

That point about the glitchy system sending reminders to the wrong emails is so real. It feels like every time a company tries to "go digital" to make things easier, they just pick the cheapest, worst software. Like my local library switched to a new app for booking rooms, and now you get three confirmation texts for a single booking. The old way was slower, but at least it worked.
