Pro tip: check your insurance BEFORE your commercial fridge dies at 5pm on a Friday
Last week I walked into my sandwich shop in Royal Oak and the walk-in was at 58 degrees. Had $3k worth of meat and dairy in there from a Thursday delivery. My policy said it covered equipment breakdown but the fine print excluded 'gradual temperature loss.' Didn't cover a single thing. Now I'm checking every exclusion before renewal. Anyone else get burned by a similar loophole in their business insurance?

58 degrees and 3k down the drain? Sounds like your insurance company thinks gradual temperature loss is just a fun little adventure for your produce lol.

@rivera.jake nailed it. Insurance companies love finding loopholes to deny claims. Perfectly good produce ruined because the temp dropped by half a degree. Bet they argued it was "normal wear and tear" on the refrigeration unit.
