I spent $400 on a cheap injector puller and it snapped on the third job

Bought one of those no-name kits off Amazon figured it would handle a few Ford Powerstrokes. Nope, the threaded rod twisted right off and left the injector stuck halfway out. Had to spend another $150 on a good OTC puller and two hours drilling out the broken piece. Why do we keep learning this lesson the hard way?

$400 for a cheap injector puller? Man that stings. I spent $250 on a Chinese set last year and the jaw spread apart on the third injector on my 6.0 Powerstroke. Ended up using a slide hammer from Harbor Freight and a lot of bad words to get the injector out. Your story makes my $250 mistake feel like a bargain but still hurts to read.

Man I was the same way. I always thought people were crazy spending big money on injector pullers when the cheap ones did the same thing. Then I bought a $180 kit off Amazon for my Duramax and the handle snapped off on the second injector. Had to weld it back together right there in the parking lot. A buddy let me borrow his OTC one after that and I finally got it. Never going cheap on injector tools again.
