Shoutout to the guy who told me to try a diesel additive I was skeptical about
I've been turning wrenches for about 12 years now and always thought fuel additives were snake oil. But last fall I had a 2005 Freightliner with a 60 Series that was stumbling bad on cold starts. A buddy at the shop in Nashville kept pushing me to try a cetane booster from a local parts house. I finally gave in after three weeks of fighting it, put in one bottle of the stuff, and the truck fired right up at 20 degrees the next morning. The stumbling was gone and it smoothed out the idle too. Has anyone else had a similar turnaround with a product they thought was bunk?
