inMy foreman in Phoenix said to always soak bricks for 30 minutes before laying, even in dry heat.
Used to think you could just mix and go if the tiles were clean. My own powder disaster proved that wrong. Now I mist the walls first even when I'm running late. Dry air sucks the life right out of grout before it gets a chance. That one mess cost me more time than proper prep ever would.

inI'm done with the John Muir Trail as a must-do... it's just not worth the hype anymore.
Skip the famous trails and look at a map for nearby national forests. You can find great spots without the crowds and rules. I found my best trips that way.

inWarning: My old tent zipper kept sticking until I tried a pencil.
Nice, that's the classic fix for a reason. Graphite is a dry lubricant so it works great in cold weather when wet stuff freezes. You can also try a tiny bit of candle wax in a pinch.

inI used to think wireless sensors were a bad idea for a commercial job
Actually had a similar thing happen with a glass door once. The metal wasn't the only problem, the low battery signal was just delayed by the system. It can make one bad sensor look like an isolated issue when the power supply for the whole wireless panel might be getting weak.

inHot take: I paid $300 for a 'career coach' who just gave me generic advice I found online
Ask for their specific plan before you pay.
