Overheard a digital nomad say coworking memberships are a waste of money in Medellin

I was at a hostel in Medellin last week and this guy was bragging about working from coffee shops for free for 6 months straight. He complained about unreliable wifi and having to buy stuff every 2 hours though. Doesn't the stability and networking from a desk actually save you money in the long run?

Oh man, that guy is nuts lol. I knew a guy who tried the same thing in Buenos Aires and ended up spending more on overpriced coffee and empanadas than a coworking pass would have cost. Plus he was constantly hunting for outlets and getting kicked out during peak hours. I think people underestimate how much time they waste finding a seat and reconnecting to spotty wifi every single day. If your time is worth anything at all, $100 a month for a reliable desk and free coffee is a steal in my book.
