Setting a hard stop for work each day changed my trip in Portugal
I began ending all work at 5 PM sharp, no matter what. At first, I worried about falling behind on tasks. But I actually got more done during the day knowing I had a cutoff. Now I have real time to wander and try new food without thinking about my laptop. It's a small rule that helped me enjoy the place more.

Hard stops are legit life-savers when traveling. Did the same thing in Japan last year, cutting off work at 4 PM so I could hit up the markets before they closed. Found myself powering through tasks way faster just to make that deadline. Made the whole trip feel like an actual break instead of a working vacation.

I always worked late on trips, but trying a 6 PM stop in Rome last year proved me wrong.

Take that discipline home, and your whole work-life balance shifts for the better.
