A client told me my floor transitions were too abrupt
They said it felt like a trip hazard, so now I always bevel the edge of the new flooring down to meet the old. That extra 10 minutes of sanding makes a huge difference. Anyone have a favorite router bit for that kind of work?

Beveling is good but you gotta watch the height difference. If it's over a quarter inch, you might need a transition strip instead.

Ugh, this is exactly the kind of thing that drives me nuts. People get so focused on the tiny, perfect fix that they miss the obvious, real world problem right in front of them. It's like obsessing over the exact shade of paint while the wall has a huge crack in it. If the floor's that uneven, just deal with it properly instead of trying to make a bad situation look a little less bad. We're all just putting fancy bandaids on stuff that needs real work.

Is a tiny floor edge really that big of a deal? People trip over their own feet all the time. I've seen way worse in old houses where floors just drop off. Are we making a problem where there isn't one?
