inFinally got my crew to stop eyeballing pipe cuts after a redo cost us a day in Cincinnati.
Man, a buddy of mine had the same fight with his guys over cutting joists. They kept using a speed square and a pencil, and the whole floor felt like a funhouse. He finally bought a cheap angle finder with a digital readout and made it a rule. The next deck went up in half the time with no shims. Sometimes you just need the right tool to make the mistake impossible.

inMy plan to find a quiet cafe in Portland ended with a goat on the roof
Try to have a quiet lunch at a park once and a squirrel launched a full-scale assault on my sandwich. It wasn't even a casual theft, it was a tactical grab-and-go from my actual hand. My plan for a peaceful meal turned into me yelling at a rodent while covered in mustard. So yeah, I feel your pain (though a roof goat does sound like a major upgrade, honestly).

inShowerthought: Quit my old note-taking method. AI summary tool does it in seconds. Way clearer now.
Still feels clunky to me honestly.

inMy bathroom floor went from solid to spongy in under a year because of a tiny grout crack.
Structural surprise" sounds bad, @walker.michael. What fell down?

inAm I the only one who saw a gas station in Sedona with a 'Go Green' sign next to a free plastic toy giveaway?
The plastic in that toy is maybe a few grams. Most of the waste comes from packaging and shipping, not the product itself. Getting worked up over a tiny dinosaur feels like missing the bigger picture. It's just not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things.
