Question about a plumber who refused to use my parts, even though they were the right spec

Actually, my plumber will use customer parts if they're still sealed in the original box. He just notes it on the invoice that the warranty is only on his labor, not the part itself.

Yeah, that's pretty common. I read a thing where a plumber said if they don't supply the part, they can't guarantee the work. Makes sense from their side, I guess. They don't know if your part sat in a damp garage for two years or came from some sketchy website. It's a liability thing, even if the box says it's the right spec. Saves them the headache if it fails right after they leave.
