Why does nobody talk about the weird stuff you find in old house walls?

I was pulling out the old plaster and lath in my 1920s bungalow here in Spokane last month, getting ready to run new wiring. The first wall was just dust and mouse nests, standard stuff. But the second wall, behind the kitchen sink, was a time capsule. I found a 1948 newspaper, a glass milk bottle, and a single, perfectly good leather work glove. Not a pair, just one. It looked almost new, like someone just took it off and left it there. Over the last three weeks, as I've opened up more walls, the finds have gotten weirder. There's a whole stack of 1970s Playboy magazines tucked above a door frame, a bag of marbles, and a handwritten note that just says 'Harold owes me $5'. The house went from being a simple renovation project to feeling like an archaeology dig. Has anyone else opened up a wall and found something that made you stop and just laugh at the randomness?

That "perfectly good leather work glove" was probably left by a plasterer or carpenter, not just forgotten.

So @blairm35, why would they leave just one?
