Just realized my home's original wiring is not up to today's standards

Was fixing a socket and saw the old cloth covered wires. Back in the day, that was just how houses were built. Now, it cracks and becomes a real fire risk. Had to call in a pro to redo the whole room safely.

@rivere83, that reminds me of when I pulled up floorboards in my first apartment. Underneath were stacks of handwritten notes, all saying the same phrase again and again. The ink was faded but you could still make out "he is coming" on most of them. It creeped me out so bad I couldn't sleep right for days. What would you have done with a find like that?

Scary stuff? I don't buy it. Those notes could just be from some kids messing around. Maybe the last tenant was into weird art projects or something. Old houses have all kinds of junk hidden. It doesn't mean anything creepy is going on.
