My neighbor's fence went from falling over to solid in one weekend

It was a chain link fence on the corner of Elm and 5th that was leaning hard for at least two years. They didn't replace it, they just dug new post holes right next to the old rotten ones, set fresh posts in concrete, and reattached the old panels. The whole thing looks brand new now. Has anyone else fixed a fence this way instead of a full tear-out?

Yeah, my uncle did that with his old wooden fence. He said it was way cheaper than starting from scratch since the panels were still okay. It seems smart if the posts are the only real problem. Do you think it will last as long as a whole new fence?

Honestly that's some next-level lazy genius, I'm kinda impressed.
