inOverheard a guy at the hardware store telling his buddy 'just use drywall screws for everything'
That kind of advice drives me nuts because it's part of this bigger thing where people treat shortcuts like they're pro tips. Everyone's in such a hurry these days they forget some things are meant for one specific job and that's it. Drywall screws are brittle, they snap under load, and using them for framing is basically asking for trouble down the road. It's like using a butter knife to cut a steak, it might sort of work but you're gonna end up frustrated and probably hurt yourself. Just take the extra five minutes to grab the right fastener, your walls will thank you later.

inAn old head in Anchorage told me my torque wrench technique was all wrong
Wait, you count to two before the torque is even set?

inGuy at the supply house told me to stop using a power stretcher for stairs, and now my seams don't pop
I used a power stretcher on stairs for years and thought I was hot stuff. Then my first seam popped in a rental house and the tenant called me at 6am on a Saturday. He said the carpet looked like a taco. Now I use a knee kicker too and it's way slower but my seams actually stay put. Guess I was just being lazy and fast.

inHad to pick between finishing Ozark or watching a new show and I made the wrong call
Three episodes left? That's basically the finish line. I did the same thing with The Americans, stopped with 2 episodes to go because I had a trip planned and figured I'd finish when I got back. Never did. What made you actually stop, like was it a specific scene or just that weird mental block where you know it's almost over so you procrastinate the ending?

inVent: My game group's big campaign night got wrecked by a missing rulebook page
Honestly, I might be wrong but aren't you supposed to check the scenario rules before you start, not four hours in? It kind of sounds like the group messed up the planning part more than the game itself.
