I keep seeing guys skip the corner bead primer on outside corners and it's gonna cost them.

I had to fix a whole hallway in a Denver reno last month where the paint cracked because the bead wasn't primed first, so always hit those metal corners with a quick coat of oil-based before mudding.

Ugh, learned that lesson too, and @thea143 is totally right about skipping small steps.

Oh man, you are so right. I learned that lesson the hard way on a job years ago. We had to redo all the corners in a sunroom because the paint just spiderwebbed along every single one after the first winter. The homeowner was furious. Now I keep a can of that oil-based primer just for beads, no matter what. It adds ten minutes and saves a huge headache.

Notice how many problems come from skipping the small, boring steps that seem pointless at the time. It's like not letting glue dry or not reading the instructions because you've done it before. That tiny bit of extra work on the front end always saves you from a massive cleanup job later. Why do we always have to learn this the hard way?
