Had a shock from a CRT monitor during a repair. Looking for high voltage safety tips.

Did you used to think CRT shocks were no big deal? I sure did, until I got zapped pretty good myself. That jolt made me see how much charge those tubes keep, even unplugged (seriously, it's scary). Now I always discharge the anode cap with the right tool before touching anything inside. It's a simple step, but skipping it can lead to a nasty surprise (and potential injury). Also, wear rubber-soled shoes and keep one hand in your pocket to avoid a path across your heart.
