I finally gave flux a real chance on my solder jobs
I used to skip flux because I thought my iron was hot enough for clean connections. After a messy board fix, I tried it and saw how it cleans surfaces and stops bridges. Do you use flux every time, or only for tricky spots?

Flux turned into a must-have for all my soldering once I tried it.

Honestly the biggest thing for me is how it saves time on cleanup. Without flux you get that crusty residue anyway. With the right flux, a quick wipe with alcohol and the board looks factory fresh. Stops that white haze from forming under components later. Makes rework so much less of a headache.

Skipping flux because your iron is hot is like baking without flour, it just doesn't work right. Morgany23 called it, flux is a must-have for any soldering, not just tricky spots. Once you see that clean flow, you'll never go back to dry joints.
