The heat gun on my shrink tube trick I learned yesterday
Blew 30 minutes fighting a connector before a guy showed me his $15 hot air rework station setting. Changed the whole repair in 30 seconds flat. Anyone else found a cheap tool that saved way more time than it cost?

Wait, are you sure that was a heat gun for shrink tube? Those hot air stations run way too hot for most heat shrink. You'll melt the insulation off wires using that thing.
Seriously, grab a regular cheap heat gun from a hardware store. The kind for paint stripping. Costs like $15 too. Way safer for electronics.
Set it on low and wave it around. Just takes a few seconds. No burnt connectors.

Are you sure it's that big of a deal though... I've used those hot air stations for years and never had an issue with melting wires. I just keep the temp on the lower side and don't hold it too close. Seems like people make a bigger deal out of this than it really is. @susan424, I get what you're saying but a paint stripping gun feels like overkill for some tiny shrink tube.
