Had to choose between a stuck door and a stuck car in a 70s building
Got a call for a building downtown where the elevator would stop three inches above the floor, and the manager gave me the classic 'just pick one to fix first' line. I went for the door interlock because the car was still moving, and wouldn't you know it, the whole thing just needed a good cleaning. Ever have a boss push you to make a quick call that turned out to be way simpler than it looked?

Man, that reminds me of a time I was helping my buddy with his old truck. He was convinced the transmission was shot because it wouldn't go into gear. We spent an hour arguing about it before I noticed the floor mat was jammed up under the clutch pedal. Pulled it out and it worked fine. Sometimes the fix is just right there in front of you, but the pressure makes you look for the hardest solution first.

Forget the boss, the real pressure comes from the line of annoyed people watching you work.
