Honestly, the old school mechanical governor versus the new digital one on that 90s Otis was a real eye-opener
We were troubleshooting a floor leveling issue on a 12-story building, and my partner insisted on plugging in the fancy new digital analyzer first. Tbh, after 45 minutes of error codes, I just listened to the flyball weights on the original governor and found a worn pawl in 10 seconds. Anyone else find the simple fix beats the flashy tech sometimes?

Man, that's wild. So when you finally got the old governor open, was the wear on that pawl something you could actually see, or was it more about how the mechanism felt when it moved?

That part about listening to the flyball weights really hits home. It feels like half the new gear just gives you more ways to be wrong. What's the most frustrating digital tool you've had to work around that just overcomplicates a simple job?
