Showerthought: I finally gave in and tried a 5-minute hand massage during facials

I was skeptical about adding the time, but a client in Boise last week said it was the most relaxed she'd felt in months. Anyone else found a small add-on that clients really notice?

Yeah, those little extras make a huge difference. Maybe it's just me but a hot towel on the neck and shoulders always gets mentioned.

My spa in Tacoma tried the hot towel thing for a year, and honestly, the feedback was just okay. It felt like an extra step that didn't add much for the price. I get what finley_clark20 is saying, but I've found clients really notice when you spend that extra time on the actual service they booked. A better scalp massage during the shampoo has gotten me more repeat bookings than any add-on.

Ever notice how a lot of places add stuff on that just feels like busy work? Like @finley_clark20 said, the good extras feel special, but a random hot towel can just feel like a step you have to wait through. It's like when a restaurant brings you a tiny, pointless appetizer you didn't ask for instead of just making the main dish really good.
