Tried a new LED mask protocol on a client with rosacea and the results were wild

I started using the CurrentBody Skin LED mask on a client with persistent redness, doing the red light setting for 10 minutes, 3 times a week. After two weeks, her flare-ups actually got worse instead of calming down. I learned that for some rosacea types, the heat from the device can be a trigger even with anti-inflammatory light. Has anyone else had to adjust LED therapy for sensitive skin conditions like this?

Actually, the heat isn't the main problem with those masks. The real issue is that red light can sometimes boost circulation too much, which makes the redness worse for some rosacea types. I've seen it happen with a few clients who have the vascular kind. You might have better luck trying a shorter time, like 5 minutes, or using it less often to see if that helps. It's a real bummer when a tool that should help ends up causing a flare.

My rosacea just sighed reading that.
