I used to think returning an opened food item was always wrong, but a moldy loaf from the Kroger on Elm changed my mind.

I bought bread there last Tuesday, and it had green spots the next morning even though the date was good. The manager said it was totally fine to bring it back for a refund, which I did, and they replaced it without any hassle. Has anyone else had a store be cool about a return like that?

Did you keep the receipt or just bring the bread back?

That "without any hassle" part is key. A lot of places make returns a fight on principle, even for obvious problems. It's a good sign when a store just trusts you and fixes it. Makes you want to go back.
