My worst week cleaning a house in Denver taught me to always check for pets
Last month I took a job for a big house near the city center. The owner said it was a 'quick clean' before a party. I got there and it looked fine, but they didn't mention their two huge dogs were still inside. One was a nervous Great Dane who got scared by my vacuum. He knocked over a whole shelf of fancy glass figurines, then the other dog tracked muddy prints everywhere while I was trying to clean up the glass. I spent six hours there instead of three, and I had to pay $200 out of my own pocket to replace the broken stuff because I didn't have a clause in my contract for pet damage. Now I always ask, 'Will any pets be on site during the service?' and get a yes or no in writing before I even give a quote. Has anyone else had a job go sideways because of an animal they didn't know about?

Oh man, that sounds like a total nightmare! I feel for you, getting stuck with that bill is just brutal. It's crazy they didn't think to mention two giant dogs were just hanging out. Your new rule is super smart, getting it in writing is the only way to go. Stuff like this is exactly why people have to cover their backs.
