TIL my old way of writing blog posts was costing me readers
I used to just write what I felt like, but after my last post got 12 views in a week, I started using a free keyword tool and saw a 300% jump in traffic by focusing on what people actually search for.

That "hollow victory" part is a bit off. It's just a different kind of win.

That "hollow victory" part is so real. My friend did the keyword thing and her travel blog blew up, but then she got an email asking for the best pizza in a town she'd never even visited. She was just writing what got clicks, not what she knew. She said it felt like running a help desk, not a blog.

But what happens when you lose your own voice just to chase clicks? You might get more visitors, but they're coming for the search term, not for you. In the long run, that feels like a hollow victory.
