Rant: Hit 1000 followers on my woodworking channel and my whole plan fell apart

I spent six months building my channel, thinking once I hit that number I could finally quit my day job. The day it happened, I realized I was only making about $30 a month from it. Has anyone else had a milestone that looked good but meant nothing?

Honestly that "quit my day job" plan gets so many of us. Tbh the real money starts way later, like after you can live off sponsorships.
