Hot take: That 'time-saving' hoof cleaning hack just cost me more effort
I picked it up from a chat group, thinking it would help with my morning rounds. But it left debris packed in tighter, and now I'm redoing every hoof. Maybe it's just me, but shortcuts never pan out.

Seriously, that line about debris packing in tighter hits home. I mean, I tried a so-called time-saving trick for hoof picking last year and it was a total mess. It just pushed the mud and stuff deeper into the cracks. I spent more time digging it out than if I had just done it the normal way from the start. Idk, maybe it's just me, but every shortcut I've tried with the horses has ended up being more work. I've learned to stick with the basics because they might take longer but at least they get the job done right.

Wait, @jason958, you actually tried a "trick" for hoof picking?

Read an old horse care book that said not to rush hoof cleaning. Packed debris just causes more problems later.
