My coffee stain hack for an oak table shocked my buddy

I used old coffee grounds to color an oak table last month, and it looked great. Most folks in the trade would say that's a bad idea, but I saved a trip to the store. Have you ever tried something like this?

Ever been glad you ignored the rules and tried something different? I agree with @pat_webb45 that breaking a rule can lead to cool results. Your table sounds like a win for DIY spirit!
